As the company's web administrator in 2008, I performed and largely managed a complete redesign of the newspaper's aging Web site.
I was closely involved with every step of the process: a top-to-bottom cleanup and review of the existing site, information architecture, development of a design PRD, soliciting and vetting bids from design firms, coordination of the design process, conversion of the designer's Photoshop files to a working theme for the CMS, integration with external systems, launch, and staff training.
Each of these steps was informed by the business needs of various departments, technological considerations, and the company's future plans in the digital arena.
I also developed several custom CMS modules: to consume and publish third-party data feeds, manage special content, allow better moderation of user-generated content, and more.

Though it's just getting off the ground, Plastic Lounge already offers over 700 free Flash games in every genre you can imagine. Hundreds more games will be added soon, and a whole host of new features are under development. Stay tuned!

My roles in these sites varied widely in kind and scope, and included programming, design, conversion of Photoshop files to (X)HTML/CSS templates, server setup and troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of third-party software, and more. Some are quite old, and some have been completely redesigned since I was last involved with them. They're listed here just to show that I have experience with projects of every shape, size, and color: e-commerce, non-profits, media and entertainment, manufacturing and industry, publishing, Web applications, mom-and-pop businesses, and more.
